Hanover County water advisory continues due to water main break
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A boil water advisory is still in place for Hanover County, as utility crews continue to repair the broken water main.
Crews from Hanover County Public Utilities are continuing its response to a water main break that took place overnight on Friday, near the water treatment plant in Doswell.
According to Hanover County, the break resulted in a temporary drop in water pressure, which led to a precautionary boil water advisory for residents in the Doswell pressure zone
The advisory is still in effect for residents north of Hickory Hill Road, along the corridor of Route 1 to the Verdon Road area, along the corridor of Route 30, from Route 1 to Meadow Event Park.
The county confirmed that on Saturday, June 21 at 12:35 p.m., the first round of bacteriological samples were collected. The second round of samples is scheduled for the morning of Sunday, June 22.
The water advisory will remain in place until the test results determine if the water meets the county's safety standards.
Hanover Count said system repairs are ongoing and will continue throughout next week.
