Hanover shares community resources ahead of winter weather

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- As a winter storm is expected to hit Central Virginia this weekend, Hanover County has shared information about community resources available for residents to stay safe.

The following warming centers can accommodate up to 25 people and will provide cots, blankets, pillows, radios and water:

  • Beaverdam Baptist Church, 19110 Beaver Dam Rd. Scheduled to open at 7 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, and remain open based on need
  • Winns Baptist Church, 12320 Winns Church Rd. Scheduled to open at 7 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, and remain open based on need
  • Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Rd. Scheduled to open at 7 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, and remain open based on need. Household pets will be accepted, and Animal Protection will provide assistance.

Additionally, all Hanover libraries will serve as warming spaces during their normal operating hours.
