Henrico police are investigating hit-and-run that left one woman dead

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico police are investing a hit-and-run that left one woman dead Friday, Aug. 22.
At around 10:40 p.m., Henrico County Police responded to a reported pedestrian crash in the West Broad Street and Emerywood Parkway area.
According to police, once on the scene, they found a woman with "obvious signs of trauma" and was dead at the scene. Officials say they are currently working on notifying next of kin.
According to the preliminary investigation by police, indicates that the victim was crossing West Broad Street when she was struck by a vehicle, which drove away from the scene.
"Crash investigators continue to follow up on leads concerning the vehicle involved in this crash," according to officials.
After crews and first responders secured the scene, another vehicle traveling on West Broad Street hit another vehicle and left the scene.
Officers are continuing their investigation to determine whether the driver from the second crash is connected to the first hit-and-run.
