Henrico to reconnect to Richmond’s water distribution system, then disconnect late Monday evening during water main repairs
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico County has announced that it will reconnect to Richmond's water distribution system Monday morning and will later disconnect in the evening when repairs resume on the city's water main break at 7th and Canal Streets. Water distribution for residents is set to continue.
According to a social media post by county officials at 7:54 a.m. on Monday, June 2, Henrico County will reportedly reconnect to Richmond's water distribution system in the morning and will remain connected until late Monday evening when city crews resume repairs to the water main break at 7th and Canal Streets.
The county said its water remains safe for consumption and use, adding that residents and businesses should see normal water pressure.
A county spokesperson said that as planned, the county's Department of Public Utilities disconnected from the city's system shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, to allow the city to work on the water main during overnight hours, when water use is low.

Throughout the night, the county said folks in the eastern area of Henrico were served with water from the county's reserve tanks. The same process will reportedly be followed late Monday evening.
To help residents limit their use of water, Henrico County said it will continue distributing water through its drive-thru sites at Best Plaza, located at 1400 Best Plaza Drive, and Harvie Elementary School, located at 3401 Harvie Road.
Both sites reportedly offer one case of bottled water per vehicle and will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. until further notice, the county said.
The water main break in Richmond was reportedly discovered on Thursday, May 29, and initially caused reports of low pressure throughout Henrico County.
Though water is safe and pressure should be normal, the county said anyone who notices unusual conditions should call the Department of Public Utilities at 804-727-8700 on weekdays, or 804-501-5025 on weekends or after hours.
