GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Goochland County is launching a new program designed to honor local veterans and active-duty service members with commemorative banners. On Veterans Day, the county announced the start of its "Goochland Veterans Military Tribute Banner Program," through which residents can honor a veteran, active-duty service member, reserve or National Guard member with a commemorative banner. According to the county, the photo, military details and family name of each honoree will be put on a full-color banner with a patriotic design. The deadline is April 30, 2025 but the county encourages anyone who wants to guarantee a spot for their loved one to make their submissions as soon as possible due to limited space.
