Hopewell welcomes Lovena Rapole as new councilor
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- The City of Hopewell recently welcomed Lovena Rapole as a new member of council, filling the seat left vacant after a former councilor was found guilty of embezzlement.
Rapole was appointed by Circuit Court Jude Tomko on Sept. 8 following the suspension of Dominic Holloway, Sr. after he was found guilty of embezzling public funds in late July.

A native of Cumberland, Virginia, Rapole has over four decades of experience within professional leadership, working with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia and Elevance Health in management and technology roles, a city release said.
Rapole also honors the legacy of her late husband, who served in the Vietnam War, through supporting veterans -- as she has held officer roles in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
