Investigation into now-former Prince George assistant principal for ‘inappropriate conduct’ dropped
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- An investigation into Prince George County High School's now-former assistant principal has been dropped after he was accused of "inappropriate conduct" with a minor.
This follows a statement issued on March 5 by Prince George County Public Schools superintendent Wayne Lyle regarding "allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a staff member at [the] school," who was later identified as assistant principal Aucet Wilson.
At that time, the Prince George Police Department said they were "actively investigating the matter."
8News reached out to police on March 23 for updates on the investigation, to which they responded with the following statement:
"Following our investigation into this incident, we have determined that we will not be pursuing charges or conducting further investigation at this time."
At the time of his statement, Lyle said that the alleged conduct was reported the week of Feb. 23 and Wilson had not been in the school building since Feb. 25.
8News also reached out to the school division regarding Wilson's current employment status. They responded with the following:
"Mr. Aucet Wilson is no longer an employee of the Prince George County Public Schools. As this is a personnel matter, PGCPS has no additional comment or statement."
No additional information is available as of the time of reporting.
