Irish culture celebration continues with ‘Candlelight Celtic’ this week for St. Patrick’s Day season

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The celebration of Irish culture will continue this St. Patrick's Day season, with "Candlelight Celtic" performances this week.

The producers of "Rockin' Road to Dublin and Christmas in Killarney" will come to Virginia and North Carolina throughout the week. The "Candlelight Celtic" will stop at the Sara Belle November Theater at 7:30 p.m. in Richmond on Wednesday, March 19, and the Perkinson Center for the Arts and Education at 7:30 p.m. in Chester on Thursday, March 20.

According to the Perkinson Center for the Arts and Education's website, the show was created by Chris Smith, 2009 World Champion of Irish Dance Scott Doherty and worldwide touring Irish musician. It aims to create an enchanting atmosphere full of melodies of Ireland, as candles flicker. The candles highlight classic Irish instruments and musicians on stage.

Tickets range from $15 per student to $45 for adults, with $36 for seniors and those serving in the military.

After Thursday's show in Chester, the performance will hit Fuquay-Varina, Wilmington and Wytheville.
