JMU Football releases its complete 2025 schedule

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- James Madison University (JMU) has released the schedule for its 2025 football season.

On Friday, Feb. 28, JMU Athletics put out its complete football schedule for 2025. Its 12 games are split evenly between home and away games, with six of each on the docket.

Eight of the games will put the Dukes on the field with Sun Belt Conference teams, while four will be against non-conference teams.

JMU's first game of the season will take place on Saturday, Aug. 30, while its last game is set for Nov. 29. The conference championship will be held on Dec. 6.

The full schedule is as follows:

  • Aug. 30: Weber State at James Madison
  • Sept. 6: James Madison at Louisville
  • Sept. 20: James Madison at Liberty
  • Sept. 27: Georgia Southern at James Madison
    • Family Weekend
  • Oct. 4: James Madison at Georgia State
  • Oct. 11: Louisiana at James Madison
  • Oct. 18: Old Dominion at James Madison
    • Homecoming
  • Oct. 28: James Madison at Texas State
  • Nov. 8: James Madison at Marshall
  • Nov. 15: App State at James Madison
  • Nov. 22: Washington State at James Madison
  • Nov. 29: James Madison at Coastal Carolina

According to JMU Athletics, game times -- as well as details on how you can watch -- for the Dukes' first two games, as well as the Oct. 28 midweek game, will be announced by ESPN in late May.

For the remaining 9 games, the Sun Belt Conference and ESPN will announce game times and television information one at a time on Mondays, 12 days prior to each game.
