POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Looking for weekend plans in the great outdoors? Join two entomologists in observing moths at Powhatan State Park Saturday evening.

From 9 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the state park's playground area, located at 4616 Powhatan State Park Rd., folks can observe moths and other insects at the Moth Mania event with entomologists Sarah Reilly, PhD, and Dr. James Reilly, PhD.

Special lights will be set up that draw in a variety of species of moths and other insects. Attendees will probably see over 100 different species in one night, according to the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Moths reportedly represent one of the most diverse animal groups on Earth.
