Jon Stewart coming to Altria Theater in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Comedian Jon Stewart will be coming to the Altria Theater in Richmond for a device-free event in early May.

Stewart, who remains a host of "The Daily Show" on Mondays after hosting the show from 1999 through 2015, will bring his comedy to a device-free show at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3.

Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday, March 21, and start at $58.

According to the Altria Theater website, all phones, smart watches and accessories will be secured in Yondr pouches upon arrival until the show is over. During the show, attendees maintain possession of their devices at all times and can access them throughout the event at designated Phone Use Areas in the venue.

Anyone seen using a phone during the performance will be escorted out of the venue.
