Juvenile hit by car while trick-or-treating in Colonial Heights

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- Police are investigating after a juvenile was hit by a car while trick-or-treating in Colonial Heights on Halloween night.

According to the Colonial Heights Police Department, officers are investigating a crash involving a juvenile and a vehicle that took place in the 900 block of the Boulevard at around 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31.

Authorities said the juvenile was trick-or-treating at the time of the crash, and was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are considered non-life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle did stop after the crash, but no information has been released regarding charges as of the time of reporting.

Officers are asking drivers to avoid the area if possible, as traffic delays and road closures are likely due to the ongoing investigation.
