Ken Martinez hired as Richmond’s director of revenue administration
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Ken Martinez has been hired as the city of Richmond's new director of revenue administration.
Martinez has over 23 years of experience, and was described as "a seasoned municipal finance professional" by the city in a Tuesday, Dec. 2 press release.
According to the city, throughout his career Martinez has worked several different positions within revenue administration, including taxpayer service as well as auditing, enforcement and policy development.
Additionally, Martinez most recently served in audit and collection leadership roles at the City and County of Denver, as well as other Colorado municipalities.
Throughout his service in this field, Martinez led an audit unit that collected almost $150 million in a three-year period and managed processes for the collection of property tax revenues of around $180 million annually, per the release.
"I'm honored to join the City of Richmond and contribute to its financial health and stability," Martinez said in the release. "Effective revenue administration is fundamental to delivering the services Richmonders deserve, and I look forward to the opportunity of serving the residents along with the rest of the City Finance team."
His first day with the city will be Dec. 15.
