LaLiga team coming to play Richmond Kickers in July

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Kickers recently announced they are set to play LaLiga team CD Leganés this July at City Stadium.

The match will take place on July 16 at 7:30 p.m., with tickets available for the general public to purchase starting Friday, May 15 at noon.

This is not the first time City Stadium has gotten a visit from a LaLiga club, RCD Espanyol made an appearance back in 2018, according to a Kickers release.

CD Leganés has been moving through leagues for close to 100 years, the announcement said, with a LaLiga debut in the 2015-16 season, and return to the league for its 2024-25 season after coming in first during Segunda Division's 2023-24 season.
