Lane closures expected on Longview Drive for six-month water main project
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Drivers in the city’s West End should prepare for lane closures along Longview Drive in Richmond beginning Monday, Aug. 25, as crews start a six-month water main replacement project.
The City of Richmond’s Department of Public Utilities will replace water mains and laterals under Longview Drive between Rockfalls Drive and Wallowa Road, as well as Hathaway Road from Longview Drive to Old Westham Road.
Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
During the project, alternating lane closures will be in effect, with flaggers on site to direct traffic. City officials say drivers should expect delays in the area and are encouraged to use caution.
The project is expected to be complete in six months, barring weather delays or unforeseen issues.
