Lane closures in place on I-64 West in New Kent as crews replace barriers damaged by crash

(WRIC) -- Emergency lane closures are in place on a section of Interstate 64 West in New Kent County as crews work to replace barriers damaged by a tractor-trailer crash early Saturday morning. At around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, the Virginia Department of Transportation reported that emergency lane closures were in place near Courthouse Road on I-64 West in New Kent as crews worked to replace several jersey wall barriers damaged by a tractor-trailer crash. The department said the crash occurred at around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday and damaged several sections of the barrier on the left side of the roadway. The lane closures will be in place until all damaged barriers are replaced, according to the department. The department reminds drivers to remain alert and exercise caution while traveling through the work zone. Drivers are also advised to seek alternate routes to avoid significant delays.
