Lineworker rodeo to be held in Doswell this weekend

DOSWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A lineworker rodeo is set to take place in Doswell this weekend, showcasing the hard work of employees with Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC), as well as lineworkers all along the east coast.

The annual Gaff-n-Go Rodeo will be held at Meadow Event Park on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17, giving lineworker crews a chance in the spotlight as well as an opportunity to build their skills, according to an REC release.

The event is free to attend and open to the public, offering the community an occasion to see how lineworkers often perform critical -- and sometimes dangerous -- work to ensure that people have power.
