Man dies after being trapped in house fire in Louisa County
LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One person is dead after police said he was not able to escape a house fire in Louisa County on Saturday.
At around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, officers with the Louisa County Sheriff's Office and crews with the Louisa County Fire and EMS responded to a house fire in the 2000 block of West Green Springs Road in Zion Crossroads.
Police said three people were inside the house at the time of the fire, two of whom escaped the home safely and were evaluated on scene by crews.
The third occupant, identified as an adult male, was not able to exit the home. He was inside the home following fire suppression efforts and died on the scene, according to police.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. The Louisa County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate, with assistance from the Virginia State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
