Man fighting for life after being driven to Chesterfield fire station with gunshot wound

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A man with a gunshot wound was driven to a fire station in the Ettrick area of Chesterfield County in the early morning hours on Friday, prompting a police investigation.

At 12:06 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to Fire Station 12 in the Ettrick area for the report of a man who had a gunshot wound.

Police reportedly found out that the victim had been taken to the fire station in a citizen's vehicle.

Officials said the preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect was shot by an unknown suspect in the 3900 block of Totty Street.

It is reportedly believed that the suspect fled the area in a vehicle.

The victim was taken by MedFlight to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
