Man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after Richmond police shooting

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot by Richmond Police Officers.

On Saturday, Jan. 17, at around 8:55, the Richmond Police Department responded to a call of a man shooting a gun around the 300 block of Belt Blvd.

Once on the scene, officers shot the man, and he was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. No officer was harmed during this altercation.

At a Richmond Police press conference, it was stated that the man was currently in surgery.

This is an ongoing investigation.
