Man injured after tractor-trailer crash on I-64 in New Kent County

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One man was injured after a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 64 East in New Kent County early Friday morning.

The crash happened on I-64 eastbound after a tractor-trailer reportedly ran off the road into the woodline.

According to Virginia State Police (VSP), officers responded to the crash after it was reported at around 4:40 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 23.

According to police, the early investigation into this crash revealed that "the truck ran off the roadway and into the right ditch line, causing the right lane to be blocked."

The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

There's no word yet on what caused the crash, as it remains under investigation.
