Married, off-duty state troopers among four severely hurt in Prince George head-on crash

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two married off-duty Virginia state troopers were among the four people severely hurt in a Prince George County head-on collision Tuesday night. At about 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, first responders with Prince George County Fire & EMS were called to the 8400 block of County Drive for report of a head-on collision involving two vehicles. When they arrived, first responders found that four people were severely injured in the crash, with one of them trapped in an involved car. Firefighters were able to successfully free that person. A spokesperson for Virginia State Police told 8News that two of the victims are state troopers. Prince George Fire & EMS told 8News that, as of Wednesday, the four victims are no longer in critical condition. They are all expected to recover, though that recovery is expected to take time due to the severity of their injuries. The Prince George County Police Department could not provide further details on the crash itself at this time, but was able to confirm to 8News that the off-duty state troopers are not considered at-fault.
