Nail dryer causes fire at Chesterfield nail salon

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A nail dryer caused a fire at a nail salon in Chesterfield County in the early morning on Friday.

At 1:12 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, Chesterfield County Fire and EMS crews responded to a fire alarm call at Day Nails, a nail salon located at 12296 Chattanooga Plaza in the county's Midlothian area.

When crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from the business and called for more units to respond.

According to officials, the fire was put out quickly and contained to the nail salon. No other businesses in the strip mall were damaged by the fire.

There were no injuries, officials said.

The fire was reportedly caused by a nail dryer.
