NASCAR’s Ricky Stenhouse and 8News’ Nolan Knight preview Richmond’s Cook Out 400 Race

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 2023 Daytona 500 champion Ricky Stenhouse sat down with 8News Sports Director Nolan Knight to preview Richmond's Cook Out 400 Race.

With the race just a little over two weeks away, Richmond Raceway is gearing up to host the 2025 Cook Out Race from Thursday, Aug. 14 to Saturday, Aug. 16. Several drivers will make an appearance, including Ricky Stenhouse.

There's only one more race before the big day in RVA. Stenhouse told 8News about one of the things he's looking forward to the most.

"I'm looking forward to going to the fan zone and seeing what's out there," Stenhouse said. "[People] can meet a lot of drivers on Saturday."

Stenhouse, who first raced in Richmond in 2007, has looked forward to racing in the River City again.

On Thursday, a modified race will kick things off. On Friday, attendees can watch the truck race.

Until then, Stenhouse will head over to Iowa this Saturday, August 2, to compete in the HyVee Perks Xfinity Series.
