New exhibit exploring Black music to open at Black History Museum and Cultural Center in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- June is Black Music Month, and the Black History Museum and Cultural Center in Richmond has a new exhibit opening on Wednesday that explores the legacy of Black music.
On Wednesday, June 4, the "From Hymns to Hip Hop: The Unsung Harmony of the Black Music Experience" exhibition will open at the Black History Museum and Cultural Center, located at 122 W. Leigh St. in Richmond.
From spirituals to hip-hop, soul and R&B, this exhibition is said to explore Black music in Virginia across five eras, according to the museum.
