New Kent boil water advisory remains in effect for parts of Five Lakes neighborhood
NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A boil water advisory issued on Wednesday for parts of New Kent County remains in effect, according to an update shared on Thursday.
At 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, New Kent County posted an update on social media regarding the Nov. 19 boil water advisory for parts of the Five Lakes neighborhood following a water main break.
According to the post, the boil water advisory for parts of the Five Lakes neighborhood will remain in effect until two consecutive samples confirm the absence of coliform bacteria.
The county said the samples must be collected a minimum of 16 hours apart, and turnaround on test results is at least 24 hours.
The first sample was collected in the evening on Wednesday, Nov. 19, following a main water line break repair by New Kent Public Utilities crews.
Officials confirmed that there have been no reports of a loss of water pressure or a loss of water.
The county said it will update its social media page and website when the advisory is lifted.
This comes after the boil water advisory was issued on Nov. 19 for residents who live on the following streets:

- Eagle Point Dr
- Fairway Ridge Dr
- Greenway Circle
- Hilton Dr
- Horseshoe Ct
- Horseshoe Dr
- Longview Dr
- Pinehurst Dr
- Pointe Dr
- N Hairpin Dr
- S Hairpin Dr
- N Woodland Cir
- S Woodland Cir
- Teakwood Dr
Officials said the boil water advisory does not affect:
- Quinton Elementary School
- Businesses and restaurants on Pocahontas Trail/Route 60
- Businesses and restaurants on New Kent Highway/Route 249
- Aqua Virginia water customers
