New shop opens daily in Petersburg, offering variety of sweet treats

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A new shop offering ice cream, cakes and crepes will now be open daily in Petersburg.
According to the City of Petersburg, Ice Cream Cakes and Crepes, located at 115 Harrison St., celebrated its grand opening on Monday, March 31 with a ribbon cutting.
Ice Cream Cakes and Crepes offers savory and sweet crepes, cakes and ice cream that is made in-house with a variety of flavors.

The city said the couple that owns Ice Cream Cakes and Crepes, Robert and Crystal, are Petersburg residents and graduates of Virginia State University.
Robert is also a teacher at Cool Spring Elementary School in Petersburg, and officials said the school's cheer team made a special appearance on Monday to celebrate the business's grand opening.
According to the city, Ice Cream Cakes and Crepes opened "softly" on weekends starting in November. After its grand opening on Monday, the shop will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. daily.
