Northumberland golf carts taken for ‘joyride,’ returned damaged, authorities say

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Multiple golf carts were stolen from a Northumberland County golf course, taken for a "joyride" and then returned damaged, according to authorities.

The incident took place after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Quinton Oaks Golf Course, according to the Northumberland County Sheriff's Office.

"Someone with nothing better to do decided to take 3 of [the course's] golf carts for a joyride," authorities said.

The three golf carts were ultimately returned, but each had significant front-end damage.
