Numerous city roadways to shut down for 2025 Richmond Marathon

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- From Wednesday through Saturday, there will be numerous street closures and "No Parking" zones throughout the River City to keep Richmond Marathon runners safe.

On Saturday, Nov. 15, the sold-out Allianz Richmond Marathon will take over the city, with thousands of running enthusiasts set to lace up and take to the streets.

To accommodate the marathon and ensure the safety of everyone involved, a variety of road closures, detours and "No Parking" zones will be put into place, according to the Richmond Police Department.

If you park anywhere on the racecourse, your vehicle will be towed -- so authorities are asking drivers to be aware of restricted parking areas, which will be marked with signs.

These closures will start to crop up at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12 and will be lifted by the evening of Saturday, Nov. 15.
