One man stabbed, three other people injured after altercation in Louisa County

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One man was reportedly stabbed and three other people were injured in an altercation in Louisa County Monday evening.
At 8:56 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, officials said a 911 call was placed by a "distressed" person reporting an ongoing assault in the 15000 block of Jefferson Highway in Louisa County.
According to the Louisa County Sheriff's Office, the caller was not able to provide specific details, but said that a male subject was actively fighting and injuring people at the location.
Deputies with the sheriff's office and emergency medical personnel responded immediately to the scene. When they arrived, deputies found multiple people who were injured in the altercation.
In total, officials said four people were injured, including two men, one woman and one boy.
One of the men had life-threatening injuries that officials said were "consistent with a stab wound." He was taken from the scene by helicopter for emergency medical treatment.
The three other victims had non-life-threatening injuries that were evaluated and treated at the scene.
The Louisa County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate. Deputies are working to determine what lead up to the assault and to identify all people involved.
