Over $1.5 million worth of narcotics seized in Virginia in 1 week: Virginia State Police

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Over $1.5 million worth of narcotics was seized during Virginia State Police's ongoing statewide investigation this week.

During the week of Wednesday, Dec. 3 to Tuesday, Dec. 9, police seized 20 controlled substances, 85.8 pounds of narcotics in the operation -- a partnership with supporting federal and local agencies. Seized narcotics were valued at $1,682,121.

Police seized 13 firearms, which were valued at $6,500.

The following is a breakdown of recovered narcotics and pills:

  • 7 ounces of cocaine
  • 5 ounces of crack cocaine
  • 8.9 ounces of marijuana
  • 75.7 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 6.8 ounces of fentanyl

According to police, 22 new human trafficking tips were received, totaling 1,394 to date.

Police said 210 cases are being investigated or are currently under investigation, while 3,672 individual investigative activities are underway.

Seventy seven victims were identified and offered services, according to police.
