POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The owner-operator of Fast Feet Sports Academy in Powhatan County is facing 12 additional charges for child sex crimes, according to the sheriff's office.

On Wednesday, April 2, 50-year-old Joseph Edward Parker of Powhatan County was indicted on eight additional counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13 years old and four additional counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory role, according to the Powhatan County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said these charges relate to incidents that occurred from 2023 to 2025.

Previous charges -- including four counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child under the age of 13 and two counts of indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory role -- in addition to these indictments are reportedly in connection to multiple victims, and the investigation is ongoing.

As of April 2, Parker is now facing a total of 18 charges for child sex crimes.

The sheriff's office said Parker remains in custody and future court dates are pending.

Affiliates of the sports academy said it shuttered its doors on Friday, March 28.
