Person shot near Highland Springs apartment complexes in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A person was found shot near multiple apartment complexes in the Highland Springs area of Henrico County on Friday. At about 5:39 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, officers with the Henrico County Police Division responded to the area of Newbridge Road and Yates Lane -- an intersection surrounded by apartment complexes, including Newbridge, Coventry Gardens and Summerdale Apartments -- for report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found "evidence of a shooting" and an unidentified adult victim who had been shot. According to police, the victim was taken to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries has not yet been shared by police. No additional information is available. Detectives remain at the scene as of the time of reporting, continuing to investigate this incident.
