Petersburg man arrested for string of robberies in February

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Petersburg Bureau of Police arrested a man in connection to a string of robberies that took place back in February.

26-year-old Marquise Abbey, was arrested in relation to robberies that took place in the Petersburg East Subdivision on Feb. 16 and at the 1600 block of Berkeley Avenue on Feb. 19.

According to Petersburg police, Abbey was arrested in Palmyra, Missouri and was handed back to Virginia.

Abbey was charged with:

  • Two counts of petit larceny
  • Two counts of abduction
  • Three counts of robbery
  • Use of firearm in the commission of a felony
  • Two counts of grand larceny of a firearm

He is currently being held at Riverside Regional Jail with no bond. Petersburg police extends thanks to law enforcement in Missouri for their assistance.
