Petersburg Office of Recreation and Special Events offers free pickleball lessons
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Looking to learn how to play pickleball? Petersburg's Office of Recreation and Special Events will hold free lessons throughout May.
A 2024 report by the Sports and Fitness Industry Association shows that pickleball has been the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. for three years in a row.
From 9 to 11 a.m. on May 3, May 10, May 17 and May 31 at Farmer Street Park, located at 1216 Farmer St., attendees can learn to play pickleball for free.
Lessons will be offered to those ages 12 and up, with equipment provided and no registration required, according to organizers.
