PHOTOS: Chesterfield firefighters rescue 5 dogs from house fire

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County firefighters rescued five dogs from a Monday afternoon house fire.

At 12:45 p.m. on Monday, March 3, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the 4900 block of Creekwood Court for report of a house fire.

When they arrived, firefighters found smoke pouring from one side of the house and visible fire.

Crews spent about 30 minutes fighting the flames. During that time, firefighters found and rescued five dogs from the house. All were able to be resuscitated.

According to officials, five people -- as well as their dogs -- were displaced as a result of the fire's damage to the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
