PHOTOS: Chesterfield Scuba Team rescues trapped kayaker in Appomattox River

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield Fire and EMS's Scuba Rescue Team assisted Dinwiddie Fire and EMS in rescuing a stuck kayaker in the Appomattox River on Saturday morning.

On Saturday, March 21 at 9:30 a.m., Chesterfield Fire and EMS’s Scuba Rescue Team was called in order to assist Dinwiddie Fire and EMS crews in saving a kayaker who became stuck in the water along the Appomattox River near Ferndale Road.

Crews deployed a boat to rescue a man who was trapped on a rock in the river.

The man suffered from minor injuries but is okay.

Additionally, crews with Colonial Heights Fire, Prince George Fire and EMS and Fort Lee also assisted with the rescue.
