PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A concession stand at Scott Memorial Park in Prince George County was severely damaged after police said it caught fire Tuesday morning, resulting in an estimated $140,000 in losses.

At around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, officers with Prince George County Fire responded to a structure fire at the Scott Memorial Park concession stand near the soccer fields.

Officials said crews first noticed heavy black smoke in the park when they were returning to Prince George Fire Station 8. They requested additional crews after confirming it was an active fire.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire throughout the building, which is owned by the county. Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 45 minutes.

Per officials, the concession stand was severely damaged and preliminary estimates placed the loss at around at least $140,000. No injuries were reported.
