PHOTOS: Fire burns through Chesterfield hotel room

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A fire burned through a Chesterfield County hotel room Thursday afternoon, prompting evacuations.

At 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the Suburban Motel in the 2400 block of West Hundred Road for report of a fire.

When they arrived, firefighters saw smoke coming from a first-floor room on the back side of the building.

Photos from the scene show what appears to be a window with visible smoke and fire damage.

"Additional resources were called to the scene to help with the evacuation of occupants, but there were no injuries," fire officials said.

Person trapped after car flips during crash in Buckingham

The fire reportedly began in the room's heating and air conditioning unit. Thankfully, the flames did not spread beyond that original room, so no other rooms were damaged.

"There is no business disruption to the hotel as a result of the fire," officials added.
