RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Anime-Fest returned to the city this weekend, offering people a chance to enjoy several different special guests and attractions.

The anime convention took place on Sunday, Feb. 2 at the Four Points Hotel Airport in Richmond from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It featured meet-and-greets with voice actors, cosplay contests, trivia games, anime vendors and more.

8News got the chance to speak with Carmine De Santo, the show manager of the event, about what an event like this can provide for the community.

"Kids love it, the parents love it," De Santo said. "So it's a family event, and that's why I think it's really important to educate the families and this type of industry when it comes to anime."
