Police chase ends with state trooper-involved crash in Colonial Heights
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- A police chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies ended with a state trooper-involved crash in Colonial Heights on Friday afternoon.
According to state police, troopers were assisting the Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office in a chase at 2:57 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, that began in the area of Brickwood Meadow along Cox Road in Dinwiddie County.
The chase ended at Temple Avenue and Conditt Road in Colonial Heights after a state trooper hit the back of a 2014 Lexus driven by a 21-year-old Dumfries woman.
The woman and the trooper were both taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary evaluations. No serious injuries have been reported at this time.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing through the Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office -- the primary agency handling the pursuit.
