Police: Suspect identified after sexually assaulting child at Chesterfield playground

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- After police said a suspect sexually assaulted a child on the playground at Clover Hill Elementary School on a Sunday in early November, officials said the suspect was identified as a juvenile male.

A sexual battery reportedly occurred on Sunday, Nov. 2, at Clover Hill Elementary School, located at 5700 Woodlake Village Parkway in Chesterfield County.

Police said children were at the playground when the suspect approached a girl and grabbed the right side of her buttocks.

The suspect then reportedly made derogatory comments to the children and blew a kiss as he walked away from the playground.

After the initial information was released by police regarding the incident, police said the suspect was identified as a juvenile male.

Officials continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Our investigation into the incident is in its preliminary stages. The information gathered so far has allowed police to determine there is no ongoing threat to public safety related to this incident.
