Powhatan High takes ‘school spirit’ to new level with Masked Singer competition

POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- In an effort to raise money for the Powhatan Food Pantry, Powhatan High School took "school spirit" to a new level with its very own Masked Singer competition Thursday.

A fun night out for Powhatan High School students and staff led to the school's own version of the Masked Singer on Thursday, Nov. 20. The competition featured big reveals and mystery performances.

Seven mystery staff members dressed up in animal costumes and sang their hearts out in hopes of taking home the grand prize.

The competition resulted in a tie between the bull and the starfish.

Following the event, Powhatan County Public Schools announced in a social post that the division collected dozens of food items and raised $200 for the Powhatan Food Pantry to support local families.
