Powhatan State Park rangers to host wildflower hike
POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Rangers at Powhatan State Park will lead a hike while searching for wildflowers on Saturday.
From 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the park, attendees can meander along trails for about 1.5 miles while looking for ephemeral blooms.
Visitors will learn how to identify each species and the role they play in the ecosystem.
The walk will be held at an easy pace, according to organizers. Anyone who would like help identifying wildflowers during the hike is recommended to use an app like Seek or iNaturalist.
