Prince George crews battle brush fire that burned through 2 acres
PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (WRIC) — A Prince George brush fire burned through two acres on Sunday morning after reportedly rekindling from a Saturday evening fire.
Just before 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, crews with the Prince George County Fire and EMS were called to the 4900 block of Stewart Lane for a reported brush fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found a slow-moving brush fire that had burned approximately two acres.
According to officials, multiple brush trucks were "brought in to assist with reaching areas that could not be accessed by traditional fire engines."
The Virginia Department of Forestry is handling the investigation.

As a reminder, the Virginia Burn Ban is currently in effect. Between February 15 and April 30, open-air burning is prohibited before 4:00 p.m. if the fire is within 300 feet of woods or dry grass leading to woods. This is due to increased fire danger during the spring wildfire season. For more information, please visit the Virginia Department of Forestry’s website.
Prince George County Fire and EMS is reminding people that, from Feb. 15 to April 30, the Virginia Burn Ban is in effect.
