PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Prince George County firefighters battled a large fire that burned through multiple properties late Friday night.

Just before 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, crews with Prince George County and EMS were called to the 11000 block of Walton Lake Road for report of a structure fire that was quickly spreading.

The 911 caller told dispatchers that a shed, a lawnmower and some gas cans were involved in the fire. They added that the flames were swiftly moving towards a neighbor's yard.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a shed consumed by fire, with the flames having spread to both a nearby tree and a garage. The fire had climbed nearly 75 feet up the tree, per officials. Additionally, large amounts of embers were falling across multiple properties.
