Prince George grocery store evacuated due to reported ‘bomb threat,’ police investigating
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A grocery store in Prince George County was evacuated on Sunday afternoon due to a bomb threat that the Prince George Police Department is investigating.
On Sunday, June 15, Prince George Police were called to the Food Lion, located in the 4000 block of Prince George Drive, for a reported bomb threat.
"Our units are currently on scene and have successfully evacuated the area," a spokesperson with police said.
According to Prince George Police, officers are "actively working with other law enforcement agencies to assist in a thorough search of the building."
As of 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Prince George Drive and Middle Road are both closed due to what the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said is "security/police activity."
