Prince George selects new Fire and EMS Chief, brings over 3 decades of experience
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Prince George County has announced its new Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Chief, appointing a man whose firefighting career began over three decades ago. Pedro J. Caceres will step into the role of Fire and EMS Chief for Prince George on Jan. 16, 2025, according to a Dec. 2 press release from the county. Caceres began as a volunteer firefighter in 1994, meaning he brings 31 years of service to Prince George. Across these decades, Caceres has been deployed to multiple disaster sites across America, according to the release. "He has a proven track record of strategic leadership, including developing department-wide training programs, implementing fitness initiatives, and leading strategic planning efforts," the county said in the release. Additionally, he has been a member of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Indiana Search and Rescue Task Force One for over two decades. "I am thankful for the opportunity to assume the position of Fire and EMS Chief of the PrinceGeorge County Fire Department,” Caceres said in the release. “I look forward to serving the members of the department and to leading a team committed to serving the community, and each other. I am ready to meet the challenges ahead and excited for the future.” Caceres will be relocating to Virginia with his family in time to assume his new position in early 2025.
