Prince George Sheriff’s Office warns of fraudster impersonating law enforcement

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Prince George County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a fraudster who is claiming to be law enforcement.

According to the sheriff's office, residents should be aware of calls from an Aaron Thomas or "Sergeant Thomas," though they may use other names.

The individual has impersonated law enforcement from both Prince George and Chesterfield counties when calling residents, threatening them with court appearances.

The sheriff's office has responded to reports from multiple residents who have received these calls.

Sheriff R.W. "Buck" Vargo said residents should disregard the calls and be mindful that the sheriff's office would never demand more or make such phone calls.
