Quarterfield Markets announces grand re-opening after destructive fire
POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Quarterfield Markets has announced its grand re-opening after a fire destroyed its planned home within Hertzler Farm & Feed in April 2025.
All vendors will be relocated from the initial open-air pavilion to a new, permanent building, still located at 3209 Buckingham Road near the intersection of Anderson Highway and Academy Road.
Quarterfield Markets provides opportunities for local producers and artisans to share locally grown, raised and produced items on the market's shelves, as well as pop-up special events on the Second Saturday of each month.
This is technically the third opening of Quarterfield Markets after Hertzler Farm & Feed was fully engulfed in flames after a fire on April 12, 2025 -- exactly one week after the original opening weekend of the markets on April 5, 2025.
The second opening happened on May 10, 2025, and the open-air pavilion space was utilized throughout past several seasons for the Christkindl Markets.
8News spoke with the Hertzler family throughout the tragedy, including the outpour of community support following the fire as well as the rebuilding process.
While Quarterfield Markets is currently technically open, their official grand re-opening will take place on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit their website for more information.
